• 10% of all seabirds breed in nz
• but nz seabirds are also the most affected by 
• one milion seabirds are killed by plastic each year
• so how can you help?
• 80% of all marine pollution comes from land
• birds are killed by eating plastic instead of fish
• or one plastic bag tangled in their wings
• over one million plastics were collected from nz beaches between 2011-2013
• if everyone in nz picks up one piece of litter today
• four times as much litter would be off our beaches,
• our oceans,
• ..and our seabirds.
